Bowen Therapy / Cross Fibre Mobilisation

Bowen Therapy  (or Cross Fibre Mobilisation) is a gentle non-invasive muscle release technique that balances and stimulates energy flows in the body. The part of the muscle that is stimulated by this mobilisation is the muscle fascia. The fascia of a muscle is the coating which envelopes and holds the muscle, thereby giving it its shape.

Bowen Therapy is a system of moves which help find the origin of a problem rather than a symptom. This system of gentle moves over muscle and other soft tissues address the whole body, stimulating it to heal itself. It also balances the physical, mental and emotional planes.

Bowen Therapy is suitable for people who don’t wish to remove clothing in their massage. Some conditions that have responded well to Bowen Therapy are:

  • Emotional stress and anxiety
  • Joint mobility
  • Posture
  • Sports and accident injuries
  • Respiratory and asthma complaints
  • Ankle, knee, lower back and neck pain
  • Fatigue
  • Stroke
  • Elimination of toxins
  • Circulation and many more
